VERDICT OF SUICIDE
DEATH BY GUN WOUND (Special to Times) TE AROHA, Thursday The adjourned Inquest into the death of Ivan Herbert Hogan was held before the coroner, Mr George Hedge. nr. W. R. Lawrence gave evidence that death was due to laceration of the brain. The position of the gun and the body of deceased bore every Indication that the wound was self inflicted. Patrick Hogan, father of dereased, deposed that at 6 a.m. on the morning of September Is. be went to awake his son, but lie was not in his room. He could not understand his trying to take his lire as he had no worry or trouble. Allan Swann, a farm labourer staled that about 3 a.m. be was awakened by Hogan and asked hitn how he got there. He replied: “I walked—no. I didn’t. 1 ran The Germans were after me and some one was alter me. **i a«k«*d him If lie had been home and he said: ••Yes. I’ve just been kicked out.'’ A verdict of suicide was returned.
