BOWLER’S SUCCESS

100 WICKETS SECURED PRESENTATION SUGGESTED A recommendation to the management committee that it arrange the presentation to the Waikato fast bowler, H. Going, of the ball with which he took his 100th wicket in representative cricket was made by

the chairman, Mr C. G. Hunt, at the annual meeting of the Waikato Cricket Association last night. The bowler accomplished the “hattrick” in the same match. Going performed the feat in a Hawke Cup game last season and was the first Waikato bowler to secure that number of wickets in minor association matches while it had been performed only three times in New Zealand under the same conditions. Mr Hunt explained that the ball had been secured and could be appropriately mounted and presented to the bowler. The suggestion met with general approval.
