BLACK MUSK PLEASES TRIAL WITH GOLDEN SHEILA SEVEN FURLONGS IN 1.31 3-5 EFFORTS AT TE AROHA (By Telegraph.— Special to Times) TE AROHA, Friday Final gallops, this morning, in view of the Ohinemuri meeting took place on the inner grass. Foxmond (Preston) got over five furlongs in 1.4. Black Musk (McGuire) and Golden Sheila (Preston) were associated over seven furlongs. Black Musk made play for three furlongs but the chestnut joined issue entering the straight, Black Musk finishing well to score by a length in 1.31 3-5. Pirate King (Skiffington) and Star Vaal (light-weight) were sent five furlongs, the latter getting the better of the jump off and having a slight advantage to the home turn. Half-way down Pirate King moved up but at the post the bay had an advantage of a short head in 1.3 3-5. Foxtoon bowled along over six furlongs in 1.18 1-5 and Brazen Bold (McGuire) ran the same distance in 1.18 3-5. Serviceable work was executed by Hunter’s Night, the Foxbridge— Lucy Rose colt, the sister to Foxmond and an Acre gelding.
