ASSAULT CHARGE
REMAND FOR BOXER (By Telegraph.— Press Association) HASTINGS, Wednesday George Barry Edward Allen, a young professional boxer, appeared in the Hastings Police Court today on a charge of assaulting Raymond Walter George Davidson, a taxidriver, so as to cause actual bodily harm. Allen was remanded on bail until October 17. Davidson was admitted to the Napier Public Hospital on Sunday suffering from head injuries, including a fracture of the base of the skull, a fractured nose and concussion. His condition at first was critical, but has since improved.
