TENNIS CLUB’S YEAR (Special to Times) , WAITOA, Wednesday The Waitoa Tennis Club held its annual meeting- recently in the Waitoa Hail, a large attendance ol - members being- present. The president, Mr G. J..Luxton, read the annual report and balance-sheet, which showed a g-ood credit balance. He congratulated the club on a very successful past season and expressed the hope that it would continue to prosper in the future. The election of olllcers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr J. Lynch; president, Mr J. Loudon; vice-presidents, Mr W. S. Goosman, M.P., Messrs A. W. Johnson, A. J. Luxton, C. J. Luxton, 11. Cook; secretary and treasurer, Mrs A. Pollock; general committee, Messrs I. Doughty, w Foreman, D. Luxton, A. Souter, J. Luxton and R. Luxton, Mesdames J. Loudon, H. Cook, C. J. Luxton, W. Foreman, and R. Luxton; delegates to the Plako Association, Messrs I. Doughty and R. Luxton. It was decided to enter A and B teams in the Piako Tennis Association’s competition. Subscriptions for the season were fixed as follows: Men 15s, women 8s 6d, Juniors 2 s 6d. Valedictory Recently appointed manager or the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company’s dried milk ractory at Te Awamutu, Mr J. J. Bailey, first assistant at the Waitoa racWiry, a member or the stair for the past 18 years, was farewelled on Friday arternoon. On behair of the staff the manager, Mr J. Wathen, presented him with a chiming clock. Mr Wathen referred to the popularity of Mr Bailey and said everyone regretted his leaving the district. Replying. Mr Bailey expressed regret at his departure and thanked the stalT Tor their best wishes and the co-operation they had given him.
