RUSSIA’S POLICY

PARTITION OF POLAND AGREEMENT WITH GERMANY (United Press Assn.—Klee. Tel. Copyright) NEW YORK, Sept. 25 According to a broadcast from Rome, the Soviet Ambassador in London, M. Maisky, assured the British Foreign Minister, Viscount Halifax, last Saturday that Russia did not intend to pursue a closer association with Germany, but would adhere to a policy of neutrality. The Berlin correspondent of the New York Times states that neutral diplomatic circles in Berlin assume that co-operation between Russia and Germany will be further accelerated

this week. It is understood that the geographical and political liquidation of Poland will be undertaken immediately. The fate of Warsaw is not indicated, but it is inferred that it may be included in a quasi-protectorate, or given to the Soviet.

There is no doubt in Berlin, says the correspondent, that Russia and Germany have completely agreed that the Polish problem can be solved entirely between them.
