BANKING CAREER
MR E. C. RARE PROMOTED HAMILTON ASSOCIATIONS Manager of the Hamilton branch of the Bank of New Zealand for the past eignt years Mr E. C. Sare, who is leaving the town to take up the position of inspector in Wellington, nas been connected with banking for the past 22 years. He was bom and educated in Hamilton and his career, which was to be marked with outstanding success, began in 1907, when he joined the Bank of New Zealand here. A year later he went to Dunedin, but in 1910 he returned to Hamilton and remained in the town until the outbreak of the Great War. In 1914 Mr Sare enlisted with the Main Body and for almost four years he was on active service in France.
Upon his return to New Zealand in 191 b Mr Sare rejoined the bank at Dunedin. He remained tnere for some tune before gomg to the head office in Wellington for a year. In 1922 he was transferred to Invercargill as accountant and later he neld the same position in the Palmerston Nortn branch. For two years he was accountant at Wellington and from there he went to Auckland, where he was appointed sub-man-ager. At the ena of iaai lvir dare returned to Hamilton as manager of this branch and remained in tnat position until his recent promotion. Interest in Town Since he has been resident in Hamilton Mr Sare has shown great interest in the affairs of tne town. As well as being a member oi many committees set up in connection witn civic activities he was an official and member of tne Rotary club and a member of the Hamilton Cron c-iub. lor some time he was on lue vestry oi St. Peters caineuicU auu ya«u> aiMi treasurer lor uuee years.
