‘WET’ CANTEENS OPPOSED
PRESBYTERIAN RESOLUTION (By Telegrapn-—pr.ss Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday The Presbyterian Chaplains’ Committee at a meeting in Wellington today passed the following resolution:—“That this meeting of the Presbyterian Chaplain’s Advisory Board with representatives from the advisory committees of the four centres, all men with war experience, regrets to hear the suggestion of the introduction of wet canteens into New Zealand military camps, as it is our conviction that the experience of the last war showed the grave dangers attending wet canteens in camps and on transports, and also because it would profoundly disturb a large body of opinion in the community as a whole. It is further resolved that copies of this resolution be sent to the Prime Minister and_the Minister of Defence.”
