RIVERS RUN HIGH
HEAVY BAIN ON EAST COAST (Special to Times) GISBORNE, Tuesday Heavy rain continued on the East Coast and this morning the rivers were running bank high. Nearly ten inches of rain fell at Tikitiki from Saturday, 5 inches being registered for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today.
Land development sections on banks of the Poroporo River at Rangitaukia were damaged by the floodwaters, much soil being swept away.
