CALEDONIAN SOCIETY ENJOYABLE INGLESIDE The September lngleside of the Caledonian Society attracted a large attendance. A feature of the evening was a demonstration of the latest dance, “lioomps-a-daisy.” Music lor the dancing was provided by Mrs Glover’s Caledonian orenestra, extras being played by Mr E. Holmes ipiano-aecordion). Items were contributed by Miss Marjorie Clark and the Kev. J. llaslop, solos; 'Misses Johnson and Williams and Roddy sheehy, hornpipe; Misses Zena and Melva Williams and Irene Martin, sword dance. Miss Rita Price was accompanist, selec-

tions were played by the Pipe Band. Prizes donated by Messrs K. O. Campbell and W. T. Williams and presented by the Chief, Mr N. G. McLeod, for the best attendance at practice and inglesldes, were won by Piper W. Fairweather 1, and Piper .Norman Good 2. Mr J. Excell w.as master of ceremonies. SHEEP DOG TRIALS (Special to Times) TE AROHA, Monday. The Te Aroha Kennel Club’s sheep dog trials on Saturday attracted large entries. Weather conditions were unsatisfactory during- the afternoon, but the work or the contestants was keenly watched by a larg-e number. Mr H. F. Galloway, or Putaruru, was the judge. Results were:—Open: E. Sutherland 1 and 4, A. Palmer 2, J. T. Robinson 3. Maiden: J. r. Robinson 1, A. L. Orr 2, A. Russell 3. Novice: A. L. Orr 1, J. Langlands 3.
