Copyright) (Received Sept. 25, 3.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 25 Former members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force who served in the Great War and who now live in Sydney attended the annual New Zealand service at St. Columba’s Presbyterian Church last night. I Two tattered banners hung in the church on each side of a wooden cross from poziers. The German Consular party from New Zealand arrived yesterday. A strong military guard was placed round the wharves when the vessel berthed and communication between the Consular party and the land was forbidden. NEW ZEALAND FORCE RECRUITING IN ENGLAND ORGANISATION IN LONDON (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 23 A Ministry of Information communique states that New Zealand, which set* an example by the enrolment in London of New Zealanders intending to serve in the special force being raised in the Dominion, is receiving at the High Commissioner’s office many applications from men from other parts of the Empire. Their enlistment is not possible. The High Commissioner, Mr W. J. Jordan, has taken immediate steps to set out an organisation for the operation of the first stages of recruiting, which will begin in a few days. Among the 500 who have already offered their services are 270 of military age. Twenty-six former officers have come forward, but some are over age.
