CONSERVING PETROL ORGANISATIONS TO MEET Town carriers, transport licensees, taxi proprietors, and rental car pro prietors will meet in Hamilton tonignt to consider important matters affecting commercial transport in the emergency caused by the war. Special attention will be given to coordination and the saving of petrol. The meeting has been called by the New Zealand Road Transport Alliance and kindred organisations. A statement on the Government’s policy for the transport industry for the duration of the war will be made. It is expected that there will be a large number of men concerned with the transport industry at the meeting to-nignt. Similar meetings have been held in other parts of the Dominion. After hearing the Gov - ernment's policy the South Auckland Council of Carriers' Associations will consider important proposals in the near future.
