TWO CLASSIC EVENTS FIRST FORFEITS DECLARED GREAT NORTHERN GUINEAS First forfeits for the Great Northern Guineas and the Welcome Stakes, and general entries for the Auckland Racing Club's spring meeting, to be held at Eillcrslic on October 14 and 16, were declared yesterday. No fewer than 19 remain in the Great Northern Guineas and there arc 22 in the Welcome Stakes. The general entries total 389, compared with 347 lust year, an increase of 42. The entrants for the Mitchelson Gup number 26. The first payments are as follows:
