STOCK DROP DEAD

LOSS OF PIGS AND TURKEYS FEED MIXTURE PROVES FATAL (Special to Times) PL'KEKOHE, Thursday Thirty-five pigs aud eight turkeys dropped dead this morning on Mr \Y. G. McAnulty s farm at Pokeno after being fed with a mixture of skim milk and meat soup. The meat soup was made yesterday and some was fed out last night without any untoward effect. The stock were fed at 7.30 a.m. with skim milk and soup, which were mixed as they were poured into the feed receptacle. A few. minutes later the stock fell dead. The symptoms are stated to indicate strychnine poisoning. Detectives are investigating. Mr McAnulty estimates his loss at £IOO.
