WOMEN’S GOLF TITLE HAMILTON CLUB EVENT WIN FOR MRS H. McDONALD Mrs H. McDonald became the champion of the Hamilton Women's Golf Club for the first time when she defeated Mrs R. Sevb 1 up after a 36-hole match in the senior championship final played at St. Andrews links yesterday. Mrs McDonald had twice been runner-up in the event. Played under ideal conditions tlie match produced some good golf and was noticeable for several fine recoveries made by Mrs Seyb in the first round. After losing the first five holes Mrs Seyb gradually wore down this lead and the pair finished the first 18 holes with Mrs McDonald 1 up. Putting lapses proved expensive for Mrs Seyb in the second round after she had been 2 up at the 27th. The 28ih was halved, Mrs McDonald took the 29th in bogey four to be 1 down, and the succeeding two holes were halved in fives. Both players carded u three at the next, but at the 33rd Mrs Seyb required four putts after being on the edge of the green in two, and the game was all-square. At the next, Mrs Seyb was again astray with the putter, needing three strokes on the green and she lost this hole. The last two were halved in fives, leaving Mrs McDonald the winner, 1 up. After a very even contest, Mrs V. D. Edwards beat Mrs 11. Toombs 3 and 2 in the junior final. The golf was of a good standard but Mrs Toombs marred her chances with indifferent putting.
