MOTOR TRADERS CONFER
RESOLUTION OF LOYALTY (By TeiPßTapn.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday Delegates to the annual conference of the New Zealand Motor Trade Federation, which concluded in Christchurch to-day, reaffirmed their loyalty to the Throne and Empire and pledged their wholehearted support to the Government during the present critical times.
“We will accept with fortitude the burdens which it may be necessary for us to bear in the interests of the Empire and humanity,” the resolution proceeded. “We would express the hope that the Government will as far as possible take into its confidence our representatives in regard to any measures affecting our industry which may be necessary.” The following officers were elected: President, Mr C. R. Edmond; vicepresident, Mr A. B. Gibbons; treasurer, Mr D. F. Bouchop; council, Messrs U. J. McKibbin, F. V, Lyons, Haskell and Anderson (Garage Proprietors’ Association), F. Jones and K. Griffiths (Wholesale Parts Equipment and Cycle Association), W. M. King and C. R. Edmond (Petrol Resellers’ Association).
