SOCIAL AND DANCE

N.Z. CO-OP. DAIRY CO. ENJOYABLE EVENING SPENT The New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, held an enjoyable social and dance in the Toorak Hall last evening, there being a good attendance of staff members and friends. Bowls of Iceland poppies, scarlet camelias and shaded polyanthus were arranged abcxut the stage and excellent dance music was supplied by Harry Stevenson’s Swing Band. During the evening a presentation was made to Mr L. Lloyd by Mr J. Brown on behalf of the staff who wished him every success in future.' Mr Lloyd, who Is to take up residence in Eltham, suitably replied. A very enjoyable programme was interspersed between the dances and a delicious supper was served. The items were as follows: Mr Keith Priscott, Misses Helga Vernall, Mona Bradley and Jean Sutherland, songs; Miss Nancy Watkins, elocutionary Rems, and Mr David Reid, humour. Miss Myra Salter was the accompanist. The master of ceremonies was Mr C. J. Hopcroft. Colourful Frocking Alembers of the committee were:— Misses Peggy McCaughan, hydrangea blue chiffon over satin; Jean Sutherland, azalea shot taffeta; Eileen Rogers, rowanberry crepe romaine. Among those present were: — Alesdames J. Cussack, Margaret Rose cire taffeta; A. E. Cronwall, robin red tinsel cloque; E. Liddy, Burgundy crepe vendome; W. Vernall, rose and blue flowered tinsel crepe. Misses Mavis Pedlovv, navy chiffon and diamante; Irene Claque, fuchsia and silver slipper satin; Rachel Lees, powder blue sheer; J. Runciman, Buckingham lilac georgette; Alice Hughes, Margaret Rose cire taffeta; W. Fry, apple green embossed satin; J. Jackman, leaf green chiffon, appliqued in pink; Eileen Carr, fuchsia, green and cyclamen checked ninon; Maureen Hare, periwinkle blue flowered crepe sole; Bertha Silvester, hyacinth blue spotted satin backed crepe; Esther Leltcb, blue and gold shot taffeta; Myra Salter, black pinspot net over taffeta; Elsie Revell. cantaloup embossed crepe soie; Sandy Atkins; peach pink net over taffeta; Iris Choat, lotus bud Vienesse lace; Iris Crook, spring green windswept cloque; Joy Cook, Mayflower lilac crepe Veudome; Joan Webster, spring green spotted crepe Glamis; Desmond Liddy, black souple satin; Helga Vernall, daffodil net over satin; Gwen Foster, fuchsia cire taffeta.
