said today that Dickie believed thesentence imposed on him was excessive. Instances where other employees at Wit-ram, also charged with theft, w’ere fined in the Magistrate’s Court were quoted by counsel. He contended there was a marked inconsistency in the sentences, and if the other penalties were proper, then that imposed on his client was grossly excessive. An application by the Crown for costs was refused.
