ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS PRIZE MONEY INCREASED (By Telegrapn.—press association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday Though it has cancelled the special Centennial tournaments in October and November at Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington, the New Zealand Golf Council has decided that the annual Dominion open and amateur championship events will take place. This is in accordance with the Government's expressed wish regarding the continuance of normal games and sports events.

The venue is Miramar, Wellington, and the dales November 8 to 17. Tile programme already Issued applies, except as to prize money, the total amount of which will be £4OO, which is more than provided previously, but tile amount has been increased owing to the expected abandonment of the professionals' tournament usually held in February,
