GIFTS TO THE NATION
CASH, GOLD AND LOANS AGOEPTED BY CHANCELLOR (Official Wireless) (Received Sept. 20, 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 19 The Chancellor of the Excheq-uer, Sir John Simon, said that since the outbreak of the war he has received many gifts to the nation, in the form of cash, gold coins and rings. He also has accepted on behalf of the nation a number of loans free of interest for the duration of the war.
