New appointments are announced as follows: —Viscount Cobham, Undersecretary for War; Lord Denham, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture; and Sir Edward Griegg, secretary to the Ministry of Information.

Hundreds of evacuated families are returning to Paris despite tin* Ntruiigest advice by the Preneh Government to remain in the country.
