ON A WAN FOOTING SEVERAL NEW APPOINTMENTS (United Pre*s Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Sept. ?0, 3 p.m.) LONDON. Sept. 19 It is announced that civil aviation is now on a war footing under a new organisation, National Air Communiuatlon. New appointments are announced as follows: —Viscount Cobham, Undersecretary for War; Lord Denham, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture; and Sir Edward Griegg, secretary to the Ministry of Information.
Hundreds of evacuated families are returning to Paris despite tin* Ntruiigest advice by the Preneh Government to remain in the country.
