NEW POLISH ARMY
FORMATION IN FRANCE THOUSANDS OF VOLUNTEERS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Sept. 18, 3.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 17 The Paris correspondent of the New Y'ork Times states that Polish organisations are sponsoring the formation of a Polish Army in France, with the co-operation of the French Governrneni. There are tens of thousands of volunteers from the 500,000 Poles throughout France, but it is announced that the Poles will be mobilised in the same way as the French nationals. Thousands of volunteers are expected from among the 1,000,000 Poles resident in Belgium, Holland, Britain, America and Ganada. The army will he an autonomous unit, with its own command, cooperating with the French General Btad. The equipment of the organisation will be identical with those of the French. The commander will be General Burhard Bukacki. Colonel January Grzedzinski, former aviator and former aide to the late Marshal Pilsudski, is directing the organisation and training.
