Jamieson, Cambridge, is visiting Auckland. Mrs W. R. Laurent, Hautapu, accompanied by Mrs M. M. Laurent, Taranaki, is at present visiting Auckland. Mrs J. Finlay, Tirau, is visiting Auckland, where she is the guest of Mrs Shearer. Miss Price, Thames, was a weekend visitor to Hamilton. Mrs Rattray, Otahuhu, has been visiting Mrs T. Wallace, Feneourt. Mrs McKay, Thames, paid a visit to Hamilton during the week-end. Misses Feme Cooper-Smith and Joan Mulcock, of Hamilton, and Miss Joan Ross, of Cambridge, spent the week-end at the Chateau. According to measurements and tests of students attending McGill University at Montreal, the modern young woman is taller, heavier and healthier than were the girls of 35 years ago. Tests have been carried out in the University since 1904, and it has been found out that the girl students of that year averaged G 2.7 inches in height and weighed 119 pounds, while their sisters of today are taller by 1.2 inches and weigh 125 pounds.
