SYDNEY, Sept. 17 The three-year-olds High Caste and Reading provided a thrilling finish in the Rosehill Guineas at the Rosehill Racing Club's spring meeting yesterday. the former winning by half a head. A feature of the race was Wilson s Fine finishing effort into third, after being a long way back and having to cover more ground than was necessary. Gold Rod had little trouble in accounting for Royal Chief, who was beaten at the turn, in the Hill Stakes. The New Zealand colt Gold Salute, who was making his first appearance in Sydney, finished very impressively on the inside in the High-weight Handicap, and he is expected to do well here.
