AWARD TO RALPH RICHARDSON “SOUTH RIDING” PERFORMANCE The presentation of the British Film Weekly’s Award is an annual event of importance in the film world. This year, as Ralph Richardson was appearing in “On the Night of the Fire,” the presentation was held at. Denham. Alexander Korda made the presentation on behalf of Film Weekly, to Ralph Richardson, for 1 1 is work as the squire in “South Riding,” the “best performance in a British film during J 938.” Conrad Yeidt, June Duprcz and John .Tuslin went over in costume from the set. of “The Thief of Baghdad” to congraDilate Mr Richardson, also in his working clothes for his new film. They all agreed that Film Weekly readers had chosen the very actor whom the members of his own profession would have wished to honour.
