OBITUARY

MR A. A. BARKER (Special to Times) OTOROHANGA, Friday The death has occurred of an early settler of Kio Kio district, Mr Allan Arthur Barker, aged 69 years. The late Mr Barker was born in Cromwell, Otago, and when a young man, was engaged in gold-mining. Later, with his brother, he conducted the Glendine sheep station *n Southern Otago. Nearly 40 years ago lie came to the King Country and took up virgin Crown land at Kio Kio, which he farmed until a few months ago. Mr Barker is survived bv one son and six daughters. They are Mr H. J. Barker Kio Kio) and Mesdames A. J. Arnan, C. Badley, r. s. Arnan (Otorohanga), J. H. Little (Springdale), W. E. Roberts and Mifts Marjorie Barker (Kio Kio).
