CRICKET AND WAR

POBITION IN HAMILTON WAIKATO ASSOCIATION REPORT The hope that competition cricket in Hamilton would continue in spite of the state of war is expressed in the annual report of the Waikato Cricket Association, which will be presented to the annual meeting by the chairman of the management committee, Mr G. G. Hunt, on September 28. The position regarding representative matches is not yet clear. During last season four challenges for the Hawke Gup, held by Waikato, were received. Although all were successfully met, hard tussles were had in two of the games. In November the name of the association was changed from the South Auckland Cricket Association to the Waikato Cricket Association. The decision met with general approval from many sources.
