Suspension of Awards

To meet the necessity for the urgent prosecution of defence and emergency works, powers have been taken under the Emergency Regulations Act, 1939, by which the Minister of Labour may, by order, suspend the provision of any Act, award or agreement relating to extended hours of work. This will only be done in the cases of those works were extreme urgency is necessary and subject to conditions laid down by the Minister.
