MAINTENANCE WORK RAGLAN COUNCIL OPERATIONS (Times Special Reporter) NGARUAWA'IITA, Wednesday With five power graders continuously employed during .July and August a considerable amount of work was completed said the engineer, Mr K. M. Wright, in his report to the meeting of the Raglan County Council to-day. Bridge construction included minor repairs to two bridges and the rebuilding of one 40ft structure on piles. The erection of a new beacon for shipping at Raglan was completed, while part of the new wharf at Wai- ; kato Meads had been constructed. Alterations to the county yards and a detailed inspection of all bridges on the highways were carried out. Engineering surveys included plans

anil proposals which were forwarded to the Public Works Department for the Kaniwhaniwha road extension. The chairman, Mr 11. W. Wilson, presided at the meeting and also present were Messrs H. .Johnstone, L. G. Logan, P. S. Kirk. F. G. Johnstone, E. Lowe, W. A. 11. Murray, A. Gobourne, W. G. Vernon, W. R. Moore, R. J. Glasgow. M. .T. Gorcoran, G. BrownleeSmith (clerk) and K. M. Wright (engineer).
