WORKERS DISCHARGED
APPEAL BY MR FRASER NORMALITY WILL RETURN (By Telegraph.—special to Times) WELLINGTON, Wednesday An appeal to employers to make every effort to retain the services of employees was made by the actingPrime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, in the House of Representatives, when referring to dismissals following the outbreak of war. Mr Fraser said that commercial houses and other firms that had had the faithful services of employees ought not to put them off at the first stress of war. They should at least keep them on and see jf their services could be used, for after the first shock of war normality would return. He had heard of cases where services had been dispensed with on the first outbreak of war. ‘AH of us have a responsibility.” added Mr Fraser, “and we should measure up in our respective ways.”
