PRECIOUS WINDOWS

IN CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL REMOVED AND BURIED (Times Air Mail Service) LONDON, August 23 Precious stained-glass windows of Canterbury Cathedral are being removed as a precautionary measure, reports the Daily Herald. Under the direction of experts they will be taken to an unknown place and buried. The Dean of Canterbury, Dr. Hewlett Johnson, said last night: "The public will not be informed of the exact site of the burial.” Plain-glass windows will be installed as substitutes.
