PATIENTS GO OUT EARLY ACUTE POSITION AT ROTORUA NO WORD FROM GOVERNMENT With tha doctor obliged to dieohargo patients before they are really fit to go and delaying tha entry of other patients when they are not urgent oases, the serloue lack of adequate aooommodatlon at the Rotorua Hospital continues, according to statements made at the meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board to-day by Mr J. Banks. “ There are 95 patients in the hospital at the present time and they are jammed right up,” said Mr Banks. “ We must have more room and probably the war will bring further taxes on the accommodation.” Mr J. Price said the board was not in a position to remedy the matter. The institution could not be put at the standard it should be because no action was possible until the matter of the lease of the site, of which no definite word had been received from the Minister of Health, the Hon. P. Fraser, was completed by the Government. “ The conditions at Rotorua exist in all the board's institutions,’’ said Mr Price. Mr Banks: Nothing like it. In *he report of the Rotorua visiting committee, attention was drawn to the acute shortage of accommodation at the hospital. ** 1 suppose the Minister hasn’t done anything yet?*’ inquired Mr D. B. Livingstone of the chairman, Mr F. Findlay. The reply was in the negative.
