MARRIAGE ON TOUR
SOUTHLAND RUGBY PLAYER (Special to Times) NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday Combining matrimony with Rugby, Mr J. W. Fleming, the fullback in the Southland team visiing Taranaki made a record for a touring team when he married Miss Kathleen Fitzgerald, of Wellington, in Auckland yesterday afternoon. Today he flew to New Plymouth to rejoin his team at Stratford, where Southland will play Taranaki tomorrow. Mrs Fleming returned to Wellington. The event was celebrated at an Auckland hotel on Sunday when members of the team presented Mr Fleming and his bride-to-be with a set f cutlery. The marriage took place at the Mount Eden Presbyterian Church.
