PETROL COUPONS
SUPPLIES ON FRIDAY PROVIBIONB IN HAMILTON DETAILS FOR MOTORISTS Special arrangements are being made in Hamilton to facilitate the issue of coupons for the restricted supplies of motor spirit for the operation of private motor vehicles. The coupons will be issued at the offices of deputy registrars of motor vehicles, but. special attention is directed to file fact that, for the issue of coupons, the bureau of the deputy registrar will be temporarily transferred to Knox Street, at. the rear of the Public Works Department. To meet the convenience of the public the licensing office will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday of this week. Similar attendances will be observed at the suburban and rural deputy registrars offices. Personal application for coupons should be made and applicants should bo in possession of the following particulars:— (a) Current plate number of vehicle in respect of which coupons are required; (b) regislercd owner's name. In respect of vehicles used jointly for business and private purposes, and for which special licences have been issued for business running only, it is particularly stated that coupon issues will be approved, as an additional supply. The public will materially assist in the issue of coupons by making personal application and producing promptly particulars of plate number, registered owner’s name and evidence of identity. The licensing bureau will not issue coupons in respect of a vehicle relicensed at another office. The preparation of the application forms provided 'for the main initial rationing scheme is not required. Coupons will, in no circumstances, be issued in satisfaction of telephonic requests. How To Obtain Your Coupons To obtain the coupons, therefore, applicants should attend personally at the office from which they obtained their registration plates at the last 1 annual re-licensing of motor vehicles, he able to quote the plate number of the vehicle, also the registered owner’s name, take evidence of identity-driver’s licence or motor registration certificate, which will be insisted upon, and applicants will be required to sign the register in acknowledgment of the issue of coupons. The coupon system does not apply to purely trade motor vehicles.
