OBJECTIONS MADE

DOMAIN BOARD’S SCHEME -SPORTS GROUNDS IN HAMILTON 'Considering that centralisation of sporting is undesirable, that the provision of sports grounds in the country centres ought to be encouraged, and that it was the wrong principle to expect ratepayers in the country to be taxed to provide amenities m the town centres, the Waikato County Council decided to-day to make objection on those grounds to the proposal of the Hamilton Dominn Board to levy local bodies in the district for the provision of better sporting facilities in Hamilton. The opinion was expressed at the meeting that the scheme would probably be delayed as the result of the outbreak of war.
