JOLLY FUNCTION
BIRMINGHAM A ENGLISH COUNTIES The Birmingham and English Counlies’ Association held its monthly meeting recently, the- president, Mr T. Barnett, presiding over a fair attendance. Mr Barnett ex pressed the disappointment of the association regarding the disinterest of some of the English members at a time when mutual support is so necessary. The card evenings have been an outstanding .success, and are still continuing. The meeting was followed by a fancy dress and “hard-up” dance arranged by the committee, when much appreciated items were rendered by Miss A. Bluett, little Miss Bluett. Master Bluett, Mr Kilburn and Mr T. Lerke. The music for dancing was supplied by Miss Wyn 'Gilbert and Mr T. Barnett made an eflicient master of ceremonies. The hostesses for the evening were Mesdames W. Fensom, T. Barnett, G. Trenberth, D. 1. Gate and .7. 11. MorJey. The prizewinners during the evening were as follows: —Mrs T. Mitchell. Mrs T.
