He i was remanded to appear at Wellington I on September 13. bail being allowed in I £IOO. j It was stated by counsel that acj cused was on a British ship which was | torpedoed in Spanish waters and had i been held as a prisoner in Spain. lie had later gone to Britain where ho joined a Greek ship which came to New Zealand.
