CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL VICTORY FOR B. SIMPSON The Ngaruawahia Golf Club's senior championship was decided during the week-end, when G. •llennessy defeated E. Turner by G and 5 in the final. Title result of the second 18 holes lor the consolation handicap was as follows: B. Simpson, 90, 19—71; G. Wilson, 92, 13, —79; W. Cavanagh, 95,13 — 82; leaving Simpson the winner with an aggregate of 182, 38—144. A game for the McKeown Badge was also played, E. Hailstone (challenger) beating C. Hill (holder) by G and 4. Four-ball Match On Saturday, a Tour-ball match was played at the Cambridge links, tbe winners being D. J. Lundon and R. Ireland with a combined net score or 136. In playing a gross 81. Lundon’s was seven strokes better than his handicap or 20. As a result his handicap was reduced to 18, and he graduated Trom junior to intermediate for the championships.
