EXPORT SHIPPING IMMEDIATE APPLICATION FORWARD BOOKINGS CANCELLED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday The Associated Overseas Shipping Lines advise from London that all forward quotations and bookings are being cancelled, and freight rates by all vessels sailing from New Zealand are being advanced 25 per cent. The increased rates apply immediately, but vessels already loading will charge the old rates on all cargo now being loaded, but increased rates at subsequent loading ports.
