NEW EXECUTIVE

ST. JOHN AMBULANCE TO AVOID DISORGANISATION MEMBERS MAY BE CALLED UP The St. John Ambulance Association met at the week-end and re-arranged the personnel of its executive so as to avoid any undue disorganisation in the event of any of the members being called for military service. Mr T. Parker presided. The re-arranged executive is as follows: Patron, Mr D! V. Bryant; president, Mr T. Parker; vice-presidents, Messrs A. E. Manning and H. Valder; hon. secretary-treasurer, Mr T. J. B. Mason; committee, Mrs T. Parker, Messrs H. D. Cobb, E. R. Roskruge, T. B. Lendrum, J. Scoble, E. G. Haines, A. D. Lincoln, C. G. Hunt, and one delegate each from the Frankton and Hamilton brigades and the nursing division. Mr Parker stated that he had received an offer of a hall in Claudelands for first aid classes and this should relieve the pressure at the Ambulance station. Further supplies of bandages and splints would be required for the new classes and on his suggestion it was decided to procure quantities of material and from ladies committees to make up this material into I the required sizes. It was decided to hasten the training of the new pupils by arranging for them to attend more than one class weekly. Mr J. Scobie reported that he had procured a further large supply of First .vid, Home Nursing and Air Raid Precaution manuels from Auckland and trainees could obtain copies of these frem the ambulance station if required. The committee decided to increase the stocks of splints and bandages and also obtain a reserve supply of manuals to avoid any danger of a shortage. Mr C. G. Hunt reported that further equipment had been obtained for the lecture room and this was now fully equipped for first aid and home nursing lectures.
