HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING HELD (Special to Times) RAGLAN. Friday The 26th annual meeting of the Raglan Horticultural Society was held this week, when Mr F. Hardey presided over the enthusiastic attendance of members. The annual rpport stated that in spite or ininclement weather the show last year was a financial success. The membership had shown a good increase. Thanks were expressed to the workers who organised the show, the exhibitors, the public and the donors or trophies. The secretary. Mrs H. B. Bernard, stated that the society’s financial position was sound, and a credit balance nr over £29 was shown as a result of the year’s workThe election or officers resulted as follows: Patron. Jhe lion. W. Lee Martinpresident. Mr F. N. Hardey. vice-presi-dents, Messrs V. E. Pegler: W. R Moore W. A. Chitty. H. N. Bernard; secretary Miss B. Carr: auditor, Mr S. Darby: committee, Mesdames v. K. Pegler, 'F. N. Hardey, \. u. peg-ler. 11. G. Orr, Misses i. and C. McDonald and Mr E. W. Bernard, with power to add: schedule committee. Mesdames F. Hardey, V. Pegler, Mr V. E. Pegler. It was decided that a silver cup donated by a local business man take the place or the Lee Martin Rose Bowl, which had been won so many times by Mrs V. E. Pegler, and which would now become her property. This year’s show will take place in November.
