DENIAL BY RICHARD CROOKS MONEY IN 'NEIW ZEALAND ALLOWED ONLY FOUR SHILLINGS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received May 5, 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, June 5 Mr Richard Crooks, the American tenor, denies that he took more than 4s out of New ? Zealand. “ I would like to know where it is," said Mr Crooks when shown a message from New Zealand stating that he had taken out of that country every farthing that he had earned during his Dominion tour. On Saturday the report that Mr Crooks, the tenor, had to invest money in New Zealand because the Government would not allow him to take his earnings out of the country was said by Mr Ferg. H. Mason, formerly of Hamilton, to be untrue. Mr Crooks, said Mr Mason, took every farthing he had earned out of the country, amounting to two lots of more than four figures. Mr Mason is associated with Mr Maurice Ralj>h, who conducted Mr Crooks’ tour.
