GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP SECCOMBE BEATS TAYLOR In the final of the South Auckland golf championship played at St. Andrews to-day G. Seccombe beat G. L Taylor 2 up. The final of the St. Andrew’s Handicap resulted in a win for R. B. Sc*e,brook, who beat J. G. Tapper 5 and 3. HALF-TIME SCORE REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY AUCKLAND 12. WAIKATO 6 The half-time score in t.fic AucklandWaikato representative Rugby match in Hamilton was, Auckland 12, Waikato 6. McLean scored for Auckland and Halliwoll converted. Aitken kicked r*. penalty goal for Waikato and a little later ho kicked another* goal. A hold goal, kicked by Halliweil, put Auckland in the lead. Gilmore then kicked o penalty goal for Auckland. CURTAIN RAISER In the curtain-raiser Auckland defeated Hamilton, 15—12. For Hamilton Higginson kicked three penalty goals and Morgan scored a try. Burke and Silky scored tries for Auckland and Wiles converted both. Turbott and Lee scored unconverted tries. CAR STRIKES POLE WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED A car driven by Mr H. McLellan, of Auckland, swerved off the Great South Road just south of the Hopu Hopu overbridge when travelling toward Hamilton at about 1 p.m. today and crashed into a pole. A passenger, Miss Ida Stone, of 52 Owen’s Road, Mount Eden. Auckland, received a fractured skull, a fractured ankle and possibly internal injuries, and her sister. Miss Hilda Stone, received a cut on the forehead. Mr McLellan received slight head injuries. Mr McLellan was given medical attention at Ngaruawahia and Misses I. and H. Stone were brought to the Waikato Hospital in a St. John Ambulance. Miss I. Stone’s condition Is serious. The car was badly damaged.
