FIFTH DAY

WAIKATO WINTER SHOW CROWDS THRONG BUILDINGS ! SPECIAL TRAINS RUNNING With special trains from Wellington, Te Kuiti. Thames, Waihi, Rotorua, Auckland and Taumarunui, arriving at the Hamilton and Frankton railway stations during the morning, the crowds thronged into the Waikato Winter Show to-day and by mid-day one of the largest crowds ever seen in the building was present. To-day was the fifth day of the great exhibition, and there is every indication that the total receipts will create fresh records. A big crowd is expected tonight and the association has provided some excellent free entertainment in the Bledisloe Hall to cater for the expected attendance. Town and country folk alike were In town early to-day. They made their way to the show, to have a look around, and many of them have expressed the intention of returning to participate in all the fun of the fair that will be provided to-night. One of the features of this year’s show is the physical fitness exhibit, in which posters and literature from a’l over the world are displayed. This is only one exhibit that is attracting great patronage. With many more sideshows and places of amusement, and the same high standard of excellence in the commercial exhibits, the show has a great appeal for all. American School Work Educational authorities and other visitors from all parts of New Zealand who have inspected the display of American school work have expressed themselves as delighted with the exhibit, and the Winter Show Association has been asked to lend it to be displayed in Wellington for two weeks. It is also proposed that some of the winning exhibits in the New Zealand school classes should be sent to America to be exhibited at the next Green County Fair (Wisconsin). At the conclusion of the Waikato Show the exhibits will be selected and permission will be sought to send them away.
