Bidding for all classes was steady, with values fully up to recent quotations. Quotations: — Cattle: Medium fat Hereford cows to £5 19s, light and unfinished £i 7s to £4 11s; light fat Jersey cows, £3 11s to £3 15s; heavy boner cows £3 2s to £3 9s, others £2 6s to £2 18s; canner cows, 19s to 395; Polled Angus heifer calves, 23s to 375; good runners, to £2 2s; potter bulls, £4 16s to £6. Sheep: Store wethers, to 14s; store , vether lambs, to Bs. RANGIRIRI OFFERING The Farmers* Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held their stock sale at Bangiriri today, when a large offering of all ’Glasses of cattle was penned. A small offering of beef cattle met a quiet demand, and boner and store cows sold freely at schedule rates. Included in the yarding was an entry of store steers on account of Mr G. H. Horton, , Te Kauwhata, which was absorbed at recent reduced levels. A medium entry of low-conditioned young cattle was dull of sale. Quotations were: Killable steers, to £7 14s; light fat Shorthorn cows, £5 10s to £5 14s; fat Jersey cows and heifers, £4 15s to £5 ss; heavy boner cows, £3 to £3 7s 6d; medium boner cows, £2 5s to £2 14s; canner cows, 20s to 365; three-year Polled Angus Bteers, to £5 9s; 2i-year Hereford steers. £2 2s to £2 ss; backward small dairy heil’ers. £4 10s to £5 ss. HIKUTAIA CATTLE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Hikutaia. There was a medium yarding of store cattle, for which prices realised were on a par with recent quotations, as follow: Light fat Jersey-cross cows, £4 to £4 10s; heavy boner cows, £2 19s to £3 13s; medium boner cows, £2 to £2 17s; light boner cows, to £1 15s; medium potter bulls, £5 to £6; store ewe lambs 7s 3d to 9s, others up to £4 15s. Abraham and Williams, (Ltd., report on their Otorohanga sale on Wednesday, when there was a medium yarding of sheep and cattle and a small penning of pigs. There was a fair attendance, and the market was on a par •with recent ruling rates. The bulk of the entry consisted of lines of store lambs and ewe lambs, which for the quality offered sold well, and though other sheep did not improve on recent sales there were more buyers interested. The cattle offering consisted of fxmers and a few head of dairy cows and 'heifers, for which there was fair competition. Quotations: Forward two-tooth •settlors, 15s; forward empty ewes, light fat lambs, 14s; small ewe lambs, lie to 11s 3d; medium wether lambs. 6s, 6s 3d, to 6s 6d; small down lambs, 4s 6d to 5s 6d; cull baste, 3s 9<l, 4s 2d to 56 2d; fat Jersey cows, £4 to £5 10s; good boners, £3 8s; fair sorts, £2 15s; light and thin sorts, £1 8s; porkers made to £2 l&e*. fair stores* 13s 6d to 16s; small daces* 10s 6d. MATAM ATA BALE Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., yeport having sold at the weekly Mata- ' mata sale, when a medium yarding of sheep and a full yarding of cattle came forward. Competition on lambs was ▼ery fair and late market rates were maintained, but wethers were not wanted. Competition on fat and boner cattle was good, and the whole yarding changed hands at prices well in accordance with late market rates. A pen of light fat steers realised £7 lls: fat Jersey cows, £4 12s to £4 17s 6d; forward-conditioned young Jersey and Jersey-cross cows, £3 17s 6d to £4 7s 6d; best boners, £3 to £3 10s; others, £1 7s 6d to £2 17s 6d, according to weight and condition: potter bulls. £5 9s. Dairies: A small yarding consisting of backward heiHers, fair quality backward heifers. Jersey and Jersey-cross. £6 15s to £7 12s 6d: calved heifers, £6 15s; old cows, calved. £2 7s Gd. Pigs: A small yarding of fat and store pigs came forward. Competition on fats was only fair, hut stores showed a brighter tone. No heavy fat pigs were yarded. Light baconers. £3 to £3 3s; porkers, 33s to £2; unfinished, 28s to 31s; good slips, 16s to 20s; best weaners, lls to 13s, others 8s to 10s.
