BIG RUGBY CLASH
OLD RIVALS TO PLAY TO-MORROW’S STAG MATCHES OLD BOYS WILL MEET FRANKTON When old Rugby rivals meet in the central attraction of the day’s programme big thrills are indicated, and a fine match is anticipated at Rugby Park to-morrow when Old Boys and Frankton will contest the principal fixture in the fourth series of the Stag Trophy championship. Adding to the interest in the fixture will be the fact that Old Boys will encounter its most serious opposition to date this season from Frankton. With the best backs in the championship, Old Boys has had little opposition in climbing to the lead in thj competition early in the battle for honours, and if the team can operate the attack to its full degree against Frankton the side should maintain its unbeaten reputation. Frankton will present some stout opposition, however, and the team can be expected to be in better form I ban when last seen at Rugby Park for, as was the case last year, ttie fifteen is steadily improving as the season progresses. Tauplri’s Big Game Taupiri, leaders with Old Roys at the present time, will encounter its most serious opposition to date this season also and, therefore, the outcome of to-morrow's matches may have a particularly interesting bearing on the positions on the ladder. Taupiri will play Technical Old Boys at Taupiri. Te Awamutu and Hautapu should be fairly evenly matched in the game at Cambridge, while United should have a keen duel with Raglan in the game at Raglan. United revealed a form against Old Boys last Saturday which indicated that it would be a difficult combination to defeat when against weaker competition. City has a big task confronting it to-morrow in an attempt to maintain an unbeaten record, for the side will meet Rovers, a rapidly improving combination. Putaruru has drawn the bye.
