OLD MAN SENTENCED
ONE MONTH'S IMPRISON UK ENT DEVIL’S ISLAND ESCAPEE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright LONDON, May 31 Thomas Edward Guerin was sentenced to a month's imprisonment in the second division. On May 28 Thomas Edward Guerin (Eddie Guerin), aged 77 years, who achieved notoriety 34 years ago as the first man to escape from Devil’s island, pleaded not guilty to a charge of frequenting Epsoin Downs with the intention of committing a felony. Guerin said: “I escape from Devil’s Island, but why should that follow me all my life. 1 have been straight for two years.”
