ORPHANS* CLUB EVENING (Special to Times) j/ HUNTLY, Wednesday ‘ I A pleasant time was spent at the second meeting of the Huntly Orphans’ Club’s ( session, which was held in the Parish Hall last evening. Visitors were present Trom • Auckland, Devonport and Hamilton, and j there was a good attendance of loral members. Bro. F. L. Mangan (vice-president) was chairman for the evening and was invested with his emblems of oiTlce by the president, Bro. J. C. A. Zimmerman. Also at the official table were the vice-presi-dents Bros. S. Firkin and J. C. Black. During the evening items were given by the orchestra, conducted by Bro. L. ti. i Peach, and by Bros Reg. Rushen (whist- ; ling solos) ; J. Goodchild (horn solos) ; M. ! Penman and Priscott, Hamilton (songs); l T. Todd (mouth organ solo); Nolan Rafferty, Auckland (piano-accordion selections) ; D. Reid, Hamilton (humour); R. Harris, Hamilton (conjuring). Bro. W. Hopkins led the community singing. I It was announced that the Huntly Cluli had been invited to visit the Papakura \ Club on Wednesday, June 21.
