TAXI-DRIVER FINED
NEGLIGENT DRIVING A taxi-driver, Ernest Wilcock, of Hamilton East, was fined £2 and 16s costs by Mr S. L. Paterson S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, to-day, when he pleaded guilty to a charge of negligent driving at Frankton Junction on February 13. Senior-Sergeant G. H. Lambert, who prosecuted, said that defendant endeavoured to overtake another car at an intersection. He speeded up to 35 miles an hour and, being on ’his incorrect side of the road, hit a car approaching the intersection
