TOTAL OF £440,316,831 RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT SEEK POWER TO BORROW (United Press Assu.— Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received March 2. ii.iOa.m.) LONDON. March 1 The estimates of the Ministry of Labour total £24,264,000, a decrease of £213,000, and the Unemployment Assistance Board £43,930,000, a decrease of £415,000. The labour estimate lnoludes £22,701,000 for unemployment insurance. The civil estimates, which account for £440,315,831, an increase of £1,015,845, provide £5,190,707 for air raid precautions and food reserves, compared with £9,283,4 20, but there is power seeking to borrow additionally for this reason to an undisclosed extent in 1939.
